OBSTACLES

Please see the AKC Regulations for Agility Trials for current list of Mandatory Obstacles.  Obstacles will meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of the Regulations for Agility Trials.

 

RIBBONS

Placement ribbons will be awarded to the 1st through 4th place dogs in each jump height in each class.

Dogs must receive a qualifying score to receive placement ribbons.

 

MOVE-UPS

Move-Ups will be accepted prior to 12:00 noon on Monday, October 25th, 2004. 

Move-ups may be mailed, emailed or delivered to the Trial Secretary.

 

CHECK IN AND WALK-THROUGHS

Check in time will begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the MCKC trial. 

 

 

 

COURSE FAMILIARIZATION AND WARM-UPS

Handlers in all classes are permitted to walk the course, without a dog, prior to the start of the class.  A walk-through period will be held prior to each class and will be restricted to handlers entered in that class.  A warm-up area, consisting of one regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all exhibitors.

 

There will be no Novice contact familiarization at this trial.

 

HEIGHT DIVISIONS

Exhibitors may choose to enter their dog in a higher height division than required by AKC, but not in a height division lower than the AKC mandated heght.

All dogs entering the Preferred Classes for the first time MUST enter at the NOVICE level in both Pref. Std. & Pref. JWW.  The following jump heights must be used in all Preferred Classes.

Owners are responsible for entering their dog in the proper height division.

All dogs competing in Agility will be required to present an official AKC Jump Height Card prior to running in an Agility Trial.  All dogs except those jumping 24” (unless a VMO or AKC Rep is present) without permanent or temporary height cards will be measured.  If you have a height card, please submit a copy with your entry.  PHOTOCOPIES OF THE PERMANENT OR UNEXPIRED TEMPORARY HEIGHT CARD WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH THE ENTRY FOR THIS SHOW.


SHOW INFORMATION 

The trial will be held indoors on two 100 x 100’ packed dirt surfaces.  Crating will be available on concrete.  On-site concessions will be provided.

 

DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER 

This agility trial is open to all dogs 12 months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained AKC ILP numbers, except bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog’s physical or mental performance.  Breeds not registerable with the AKC are NOT eligible to enter.  Refer to Chapter 2 of the Registration and Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable breeds that may participate.  Spayed bitches and neutered males are allowed to participate.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry fees are $6.00 for the first entry of a dog in either class, and $4.00 for the second entry of the same dog in either class per day.  Entries close on Monday, October 11th, 2004 at 5:00 P.M., after which time entries cannot be accepted, canceled, altered or substituted, except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of Dog Show Rules. 

 

All entries must be submitted on official AKC Agility entry forms, one dog per entry form.  Photocopies of front and back will be accepted only if legible and of official AKC size.  Entries will NOT be accepted without signature, fees, and back of entry form, with agreement signed.

 

Unsigned, incomplete or illegible entries are NOT acceptable and cannot be entered in the trial. (AKC Rule, CH.14, Sec.4.) 
Faxed entries and/or credit cards cannot be accepted.

AGREEMENT

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient.  In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.

Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons.  I (we) agree that any cause of action, controversy or claim arising out of or related to the entry, exhibition or attendance at the event between the AKC and the event-giving club (unless otherwise stated in its premium list) and myself (ourselves) or as to the construction, interpretation and effect of this Agreement shall be settled by arbitration pursuant to the applicable rules of the American Arbitration Association.  However, prior to arbitration all applicable AKC Bylaws, rules, regulations and procedures must first be followed as set forth in the AKC Charter and Bylaws, rules, regulations, published policies and guidelines.

INSTRUCTIONS

(Variety)  If you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e. Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not  exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (long-haired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and  Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

 

A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a trial closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any trial for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his/her name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.)
